Eve Thomson - Designer and Sustainability Advocate
I’m Eve Thomson, a designer committed to creating eco-friendly and innovative designs. My journey began at Plymouth University, where I discovered my passion for sustainable design and honed my skills in blending traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.
Sustainability isn't just a practice for me—it's a core value that shapes everything I create. I’m fascinated by how design can be both functional and environmentally responsible. One of my proudest achievements is "The Rib," a bench that reflects my dedication to using locally sourced materials and precise CNC milling techniques. Through this project, I’ve explored how traditional boat-making methods can be reimagined in modern design.
Exhibiting my work at the New Designers Show was a significant milestone, where I received recognition for my commitment to sustainability. It reinforced my belief that thoughtful design can make a positive impact.
I’m always seeking new ways to challenge myself and push the limits of what sustainable design can achieve. My goal is to inspire others to think creatively about sustainability in their own projects, and to continue evolving as a designer who prioritises both innovation and the environment.
